Pitch Bend Range Manipulation
User-defined configurations define pitch bend ranges that can be switched dynamically. Pitch bend ranges can also be temporarily modified by pressing the joystick in or pressing the trigger button. This opens up an avenue for spontaneity in soloing that isn’t traditionally available with lead keyboard.
Multi-Dimensional Control
The video game controller form factor allows more fingers to participate in Continuous Control, deepening the expressive possibilities that are allowed through MIDI. The high precision joystick is very flexible in its function, allowing for pitch data to be sent from each axis, and one mapping per direction on one axis.
Standardized and Repairable
The Lead Machine can be suspended by any 1/4”-20 mount, including tripods and goosenecks. It uses USB Micro B to connect to synthesizers, computers, and DAWs alike. I am also committed to making sure that the Lead Machine is serviceable and repairable by users.
